Nevertheless, global solidarity remains the linchpin. Healing the trauma of slavery and combating reactionary politics are transcontinental projects linked by a common cause of collaboration between states and cultures in the interests of human rights, inclusivity and equitable development. The strategic options of African countries highlight a world in multipolar transition, where Western hegemony is being challenged and new alignments are organizing the political-economic cosmos( John J. Chin, 2024).

In the 21st century, liberating the legacy of the trauma of slavery remains a fundamental test amid the disruptive re-emergence of racism, far-right nationalism, and the complicit immobilism of the left in the Western world.
While these regressive forces seek to deepen divisions, Africa’ s enduring legacy of resilience and cultural vitality offers pathways to healing and empowerment through innovative trauma-informed approaches. At the same time, the strategic realignments of African nations with emerging powers such as China and Russia herald a new chapter in global sovereignty and influence, challenging traditional power hierarchies and expanding choices in development and self-determination.
