Regarding her writing process, Turner said she was fortunate enough to write on her first two albums, co-writing around 5 or 6 songs on Passion. She approached these sessions with the mindset of a student, looking to learn from experienced songwriters. For Tropic Electric, she had her first solo write and co-wrote the rest of the album, infusing her love for dancehall.

In a 2015 interview, Turner emphasized the profound impact of her Canadian and Jamaican background on her music. She said she wouldn’ t make music without Jamaica, where music is part of everyday life. Turner mentioned that she started singing at the age of 15 or 16, following the encouragement of her church friends in Jamaica. Her mixed heritage is reflected in her music, which she describes as a“ melting pot” of genres, influenced by her parents’ musical tastes in jazz, blues,‘ 70s pop and reggae.
A comeback in 2025
Although her last major musical release was in 2017, Kreesha Turner then turned her focus to finance, teaching financial education and stock market investing online under the moniker # StockBae. She also remained involved in film and TV production.
However, after a decade without releasing music, Kreesha Turner is set to make a comeback in 2025 with a new album. This project is described as her most personal work to date, rooted in her earliest musical inspirations. The Canada Black Music Archives( CBMA) also notes that Turner continues to pursue her musical passion, with tracks released in 2025 such as“ Black Magic”,“ Monster Behind the Mask” and“ Selfish”. His unique blend of reggae, dancehall and hip-hop continues to inspire other artists in the genre.
