AngeliQ Piti a Piti
Artists to follow
Between blues and electro Afro-Caribbean sonorities, AngeliQ transports us into an inspired, feminine and captivating universe.
AngeliQ has been built musically over the last 10 years. From writing to composition, she learned to express herself more freely and to give a new dimension to her musical ambitions. Her determination, and desire to produce complete works, is palpable in her compositions. Proud of her roots and Creole language, which she describes as strong and powerful like all the women who inspire her. AngeliQ could only use her voice to carry to the apex the quintessence of this heritage intrinsic to her.
Nourishing the Gwoka traditional rhythms, with
original sonorities gives a new eclectic dimension to her music. Surrounded by talented musicians, like Thierry Vaton, in the keyboards, Gregory Jean-François in percussions and Zacharie Abraham contrabass, she imposes her artistic universe and defends subjects questioning the very basis of our humanity.
Built like a collection of stories, this first album is a gallery of life’s moments. Tribute to the Earth, to the roots, to the strength and the feminine selflessness. PITI a PITI takes on, strong and current subjects. A music that breath the sensual allegory, of the artist, vibrant and touching, it plunges the melomaniac into the onirism of the Gwoka and Afro rhythms.
