Tragic Disappearance
On May 17, 2025, the rap world was rocked by the news of Werenoi’ s sudden death at the age of 31. His producer, Babs, confirmed the sad news on social networks, expressing his immense sadness. The exact circumstances of his death were quickly the subject of speculation, but those closest to him finally confirmed that he had succumbed to“ heart failure” following serious complications linked to his diabetes, including a hyperglycemic crisis, diabetic ketoacidosis, hyperkalemia, and defibrillation syndrome.
The news sent shockwaves through the music industry and beyond( La rédaction de Mondafrique, 2025). Numerous artists, including Aya Nakamura, Gims, SCH, Damso, Maes, Dosseh, Dinos, PLK, Lacrim and Pascal Obispo, paid tribute to Werenoi on social networks and in the media, hailing his talent and impact.
Sales of his albums soared immediately after his death, with Diamant Noir topping the charts, and Pyramide 2 and Carré also appearing in the top 10( Magali Rangin, 2025).
