The Interview that Changed Everything( Essence Magazine, 2001)“ I was told that a fat 40-year-old black girl could never break into R & B. I said,‘ Watch me do it. Angie Stone enjoyed huge success with her second album,“ Mahogany Soul”, released in 2001. The single“ Wish I Didn’ t Miss You”, which samples an O’ Jays song, reached the top of the charts, consolidating her position as one of R & B’ s major voices. Mahogany Soul is my musical diary. When I wrote‘ Brotha’, I was crying in the studio thinking about all those black men being murdered slowly.” His song“ No More Rain( In This Cloud)” was also a big hit, becoming a classic of the 2000s.
The album“ Stone Love”, released in 2004, represents a high point in Angie Stone’ s career, an artist who has reinvented herself while remaining true to her musical roots. This third album, rich in collaborations, perfectly illustrates her success in fusing different musical styles, notably R & B, hip-hop and soul.

“ Stone Love” is distinguished by its striking collaborations, bringing a sonic diversity that enriches every track. Notable artists include Snoop Dogg and Anthony Hamilton, who each bring their own personal touch to this opus.
