Under the pretext of controlling an oversized population and protecting China ' s prosperity , the Chinese Communist Party is building up a highly repressive security apparatus . China has become an Orwellian paradise , where Big Brother ' s control is likely to reach the most sophisticated levels in the decades to come , with artificial intelligence and quantum computers . China is thus becoming the realization of some Westerners ' dream of a hypercontrolled society , a large-scale experiment that some far-right parties would love to replicate in the West once they ' re in power . Also , if the Chinese model of mass control were to become the norm , with China leading the world economy , fears about the arbitrariness of technology in the lives of the world ' s citizens would not be far-fetched . In the scientific sphere , while the freedom to conduct certain experiments is heavily regulated or even prohibited in the West , in China there is a certain flexibility in the regulation of scientific research . A situation which at one time encouraged Western research laboratories to set up in China , as the coronavirus pandemic of 2020 revealed . From this point of view , the reality of free enterprise in scientific research in China is both beneficial and dangerous for humanity . While some of China ' s scientific research prowess is to be applauded , the maxim Science without conscience is but ruin should also inspire the Chinese authorities to better regulate a vital , but no less dangerous , sector .
The courage to go beyond certain moral barriers to find the miracle formula should not make some people forget that science should above all be at the service of mankind and his environment . Leadership comes with responsibility . Another highly visible contrast concerns money . Money being the sinews of war , the decline of the dollar as the currency par excellence of world trade and the creation of an alternative system to SWIFT is good news for the freedom of the money market . It took so-called dictatorial countries such as China and Russia rising up against the dollar monopoly for the peoples of the world to understand that they would no longer be obliged to blindly obey Washington ' s diktat in order to breathe economically . U . S . emergency laws , which tend to run counter to the principles of international law , and the excessive use of economic sanctions against countries that resist the U . S . -dominated world order and a certain way of thinking , have not helped humanity , but rather created a situation in which the misery of the weakest is manipulated to bring about changes in political regimes . The economic wars waged by Washington against countries such as Iraq , Iran , Libya and Syria have caused many needless deaths among innocent populations . The multipolarization of the world economy advocated by China and Russia through the BRICS initiative is a breath of fresh air ; a balance of power that is very important for economic peace .
