I would remember from you this bridge that you knew how to build between the African continent and its diasporas . I think particularly of this Creole of the dust from the Caribbean islands that you practiced quite well , remembering the words that you throwed at me maliciously a few times ... You are gone , Amobe ... that day ... to find our ancestors , grandfathers and grandmothers . May the earth be light to you ... big brother ...
Claudy Siar
Claudy Siar , star presenter of Couleurs Tropicales on RFI has no doubt better summarized the grandiose impact of Amobé Mévégué on the chessboard of Afro culture in Africa and the West , stating September 9th , on his Facebook page : “ Amobé wrote an important page in the history of Africa . Today he made history "
With more than three decades in the medias , the one who demonstrated great erudition leaves an enormous void as he has worked to bring people together , and to build bridges between the rest of the world and Africa , still so misunderstood and unloved . In an interview given in 2011 to the Association Solidarité Africaine de France and its moderator , Guy Samuel Nyoumsi , Amobé Mévégué , assiduous activist for the recognition and rebirth of Africa , thought that it was a heroic act to proclaim his Africanity , in an often negrophobic world . And said bluntly that in the Western media the more some tended to vilify Africa , the more doors were opened to them . He thought that since the Negro theater on the Champs Elysée , and the time of Josephine Baker , there was a devious parallel between the discourse of blacks who are on TV , and the backward ideas about Africa and Africans they conveyed . He argued with supporting evidence that the more some dirtied the African continent , and the so-called black race , the more their careers seemed to bloom in medias in the West . So , he concluded by saying that this is why someone like Aimé Césaire despite his pedigree , has never had the place he deserved in the French media . He lambasted the attitude of the media which seemed more inclined to give their platform to the " Black Dancing Stupid Nigger ". Besides , Amobé Mévégué knew that coming from a minority that strive in invisibility , he had become predominantly visible , always dressed in African attire to promote his identity , he strove day and night to pave the way , to show the way , he believed that it was always necessary to have Africa in his heart , to work and to create wealth and especially to redistribute it , in order to alleviate the su ering of the continent , richest in mineral resources , but which unfortunately continues to struggle , with one of the poorest populations on the planet .
