Jules Michelet said , “ Politics is the art of obtaining money from the rich and votes from the poor , under the pretext of protecting them from each other .” Money in itself is power ; what happens when it now embodies political power ? It simply becomes the absolute power that corrupts absolutely . You don ’ t have to be a soothsayer to understand this . In contemporary governance dynamics , the relationship between political and economic power raises critical questions . The concentration of economic resources in the hands of a small group of individuals often referred to as oligarchs has contributed to a complex system , where private interests intermingle with public decisions .
This interconnection is demonstrated not only through legislation , but also via the decision-making bodies that determine the course of socio-economic development . As the scourge seems to be becoming more and more the norm , we have to ask ourselves what will become of the world under the boot of the oligarchs ? Before delving into the intricacies of a system that now aims to control humanity by dictating its behavior and way of life , it ’ s important to take a look back at history . For some , history repeats itself , but for others , who are more perceptive , it continues with the same agents who have the same agendas and simply update their strategies with the tools of their times . The servility of the masses seems to be the most striking fact that recurs at every turn in history .
