You are part of the new generation of musicians from West Africa, an important dwelling of African culture, in your opinion what is it necessary to continue to keep the hot spot in a changing world?

I think that African politicians must be aware that artists of the continent are the showcase, the flag bearers. The profession of musician artist in Africa, because of the lack of means, is a real challenge. Today, there is no distribution network, no stage, no festival ... If African culture wants to stay in the spotlight, it is appropriate to allow artists to tour in Africa. Our leaders must promote the dissemination of music through the organization of festivals worthy of the name.

At 40, you have reached maturity if it was necessary to give advice to those who start or want to embark on this journey what will you tell them?

The desire, the will and the work will always bring a satisfying result whatever the profession exercised. Also, my advice is to work and never lose sight of the goal that we set ourselves.

As we are closing this interview I know you are now touring can we have some dates?

I will be on October 27 at Saint-Martin des Champs, I will present my new album on November 24 at the New Morning in Paris. All dates are on my site www.mohkouyate.com

Moh kouyaté Flashmag and its readership say thank you for this interview.
